Embroidery Exhibition
There is an embroidery exhibition upstairs at the Craft Shop at the moment. It features both new and vintage items dating from as early as 1850 as far as we can ascertain. Please come along and see what is on show. The exhibition is on until the 20th September.
This is part of the display – It is really just a collection of some of the interesting pieces of vintage items I have accumulated but I really like to see it on the wall rather then keeping it in a box. It also means that I can add to it or change the colours.
This lovely pin cushion is amongst the exhibits with the added advantage that the jammy dodger is non fattening and can also be used to measure your waistline.

Happy Valentines

Still trying to get to grips with updating the website, for every update there are three days of trying and any number of emials and texts for assistance. However, I wanted to show you some of the things I have been playing with recently and to let you know that I have started to update the workshop calender, so keep looking at it for future workshops.

He is just a knitted rectangle

Last week someone came in with a pattern for a tea cosy, looking for appropriate wool. When she had left I felt inspired to make my own using some wool in the sale. It was going to be a chicken but as you can see it didn’t turn out that way.

"isn't it romantic"

I was also asked to run a private workshop for a group of ladies and I was inspired by some small canvases I saw in a local shop. They were easy to make using gesso and paint, lace, buttons, napkins and papers. They all turned out different and very lovely.

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year

Thank you to all our customers and workshop attendees this year and hope to see you for many more interesting workshops next year. The workshop list should be going up soon but if there is anything not on the list that you would like to try then just give me a call at the shop.

Here are a few items from the Christmas workshops to tempt your tastebuds.

Christmas in October

It was the first christmas craft workshop today and despite the warm and sunny weather we had appropriate seasonal fun. (I stopped short of playing carols, we had no room left after lunch to eat the mince pies and everyone was driving so the mulled wine didn’t get drunk)

I gave everyone a choice of different items to they all chose somethng different.

Everyone hard at work
